DIXAS

The KETEK DIXAS
(Digital X-ray Acquisition System)

The new DIXAS comprises one of KETEK´s approved VITUS SDD modules, a low noise  preamplifier, KETEK´s Digital Pulse Processor – DPP - (digital shaping amplifier plus MCA) and all necessary control electronics and power supplies. The system is ready for operation within minutes after receipt. All settings are performed and controlled through DIXAS software running on a Personal Computer.

DIXAS makes use of all the excellent properties of the KETEK VITUS-SDD Modules and thus is optimally suited for x-ray measurements in XRF, EDX, XRD and scientific applications.

With the current KETEK AXAS (Analogue X-ray Acquisition System) the SDD signal is processed by a low noise preamplifier followed by an analogue shaping amplifier and digitized by the KETEK ADC/MCA. In the new KETEK DIXAS, the SDD signal is digitized immediately after the preamplifier by the KETEK DPP with only some minor signal conditioning added before digitization. The digitized data is then filtered and optimized using KETEK´s unique real-time digital processing algorithms, and finally transferred to the onboard memory. The spectrum is transferred to a PC by the DIXAS software for storage, view and analysis through USB 2.0 full speed interface. The DIXAS system replaces both the analogue shaping amplifier and the ADC/MCA of the AXAS.
